NEW YORK, January the 16th  2008 With uncanny timing, today Paradox Interactive raises the DEFCON level to a new high. On the horizon a fresh set of deadly challenges emerge in the first expansion for its grand strategy wargame, Supreme Ruler 2020 - Global Crisis.
 
As the world is confronted with a tension filled situation in Gaza and Russia threatens to turn off Europe's gas supply, the nations of the Earth reach out with tentative arms of diplomacy. Yet the destructive specter of war lurks ever-present, somewhere ahead at the next political crossroads. Global Crisis presents a world where events run in parallel with those of today. Will there be peace and fair trade for all? Or is it just a matter of time before war descends upon all nations! 
 
With a host of new features, Global Crisis allows players to determine their own fate.  Among these are: 
  • New flag based H.U.D's to help identify friendly and enemy units on the battlefield
  • BATTLEGROUPS provide the ability to organize units from the battalion level and up
  • Scripted and Random EVENTS now force players to keep on their toes, in order to respond to changing events
  • An expanded TECH TREE and new UNITS now extend the challenge in the latter stages of campaigns

  • The variety of challenges grows with a whole new CAMPAIGN and 20 SCENARIOs for single and multiplayer
