Between 4-5pm CET Thursday & Friday a group of fiery Paradoxians are stepping up to all challengers in Hears of Iron: The Card game. To have the chance to participate, either log in with your forum account or create a new account: http://hoitcg.com.

It'll cost you 2 tickets to play one of these head to head matches but hey, you'll start off with 10 tickets in your wallet if you log in to the game before October 17. That's enough to take 5 entire shots at us. Better yet, if you do manage to best one of the devs you'll get the rare BA-10 card as a trophy. Two of the Devs Behind the Hearts of Iron Series Speak Their Minds of the Game

Artur Foxander and David Ballantyne are two of the devs behind the Hearts of Iron hardcore strategy games and two of the Paradoxians that will be swapping trade goods for trading cards later this week. Are they scared? Confident? Aroused? Who knows. So we sat them down to ask 'em some questions.

So, What are your thoughts on Hearts of Iron becoming a card game?

David: My first thought was "This is crazy, how would that even work?". However, after seeing it in action it looks pretty fun, so it seems like it was a good idea afterall.

Artur: I love the combination of TCG and tactical games. Panzer General Allied assault is one of my favorite XBLA titles. HOITCG is very different, but great fun. Different experience than HOI though.

What is your favorite tank?

David: I like my tanks like I like my women: Overly complicated and prone to breaking down, but excellent in the right circumstances. As such, my favorite tank is the King Tiger/TigerII. Although the regular Tiger has a special place in my heart too, ever since I read "Tigers in the mud".

Artur: T-34. Not because it's best, but my grandfather was a T-34 driver during WWII.

Which faction do you like?

David: Axis, they have the best tanks (and neatest boots!).

Artur: Die Panzermensch!

What tactics will you use to beat the challengers?

Artur: Death by thousand cuts. I'll try to pick doctrine cards with few victory points and small requirements.

David: Initally I will lull them into a false sense of security by acting like I have no idea how the game works. I have not really planned beyond that, hopefully it will work out well.
