“Captain Smith” join ranks with Paradox Interactive

Former RPS journalist hired by publisher as Creative Marketing Commissar

Stockholm – July 21th, 2011 – Paradox Interactive revealed today that former Rock, Paper, Shotgun journalist <i>Quintin Smith</i> has joined the global PC publisher. Quintin will work in the marketing team as the Creative Marketing Commissar, while continuing to pursue his freelance writing career part time. 

“We’ve often joked that if Paradox were a media site we’d aspire to be like Rock, Paper, Shotgun as they combine a passion for the PC platform with incredibly intelligent, witty and sometimes scrutinizing articles of the industry," said Susana Meza Graham, EVP of Publishing at Paradox Interactive.
"We’ve been big fans of Quintin’s work for a long time and when he left RPS we immediately made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. It also helped that Quintin appears to think that Stockholm is in California. In any case, he’ll be an amazing addition to what I dare say is one of the strongest publishing teams in the industry today."

"I had a tremendous time interacting with Paradox as a journalist, so when they asked if I'd like to start working for them while continuing to work on projects of my own, it was an easy decision. This represents an opportunity for me to work even more closely with people I respect and games that I love. I originally wrote in that last sentence that this represents an opportunity for me to get even more involved with people I respect, but that sounds a bit suggestive. I'm glad I changed it."
